Fedora is a felt hat, it has a wide brim, a brim with notches and beveled edges, framed with a ribbon. The model first appeared in 1882, and was exclusively a woman's closet item. After 1924, when such hats began to wear British Prince Edward, felt fedora became a full-fledged part of men's fashionable outfit, replacing bowler hats, flat caps and cylinders. It was mostly worn in cities for protection from the weather and for aesthetic reasons.
